What lenders look at: Protium checks average monthly turnover and average bank balance from your statements. Keeping business receipts flowing through one current account, and avoiding bounced cheques, makes a big difference to the amount you are offered.
What affects how much you get
- Turnover: higher, steadier monthly credits in your bank account support a larger loan.
- Bank balance: a healthy average balance shows you can absorb an EMI in a slow month.
- Credit score: 700 is the minimum; a higher score and a clean repayment record usually bring a better rate.
- Existing debt: other business or personal EMIs reduce how much new EMI you can take on.
- GST filings: for amounts above ₹15 lakh, regular GSTR-3B returns help prove your turnover.
Documents you will need
- Identity: PAN card
- Bank statements: last 12 months; if the 9th of the current month has passed, include the current month too
- For loans above ₹15 lakh: GSTR-3B returns for the last 12 months
How much will the EMI be?
Protium sets the rate and tenure based on your profile, and the offer does not publish them. To help you plan, here are EMIs at an illustrative 18% a year. Your actual rate and tenure may be different.
| Loan amount | Tenure | Monthly EMI | Total interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹5,00,000 | 2 years | ₹24,962 | ₹99,089 |
| ₹10,00,000 | 3 years | ₹36,152 | ₹3,01,486 |
| ₹25,00,000 | 3 years | ₹90,381 | ₹7,53,716 |
| ₹50,00,000 | 5 years | ₹1,26,967 | ₹26,18,028 |
Business loans are repaid out of cash flow, so check that the EMI fits comfortably within your monthly surplus even in a slow month. A longer tenure lowers the EMI but increases the total interest you pay, so pick the shortest tenure your cash flow can handle.
How to apply
- Tap Apply on Protium site on this page to open the official application.
- Enter your business and personal details in the same session.
- Upload your bank statements and, for larger amounts, GSTR-3B returns.
- Review the offered amount, rate, tenure and charges, then accept to receive the funds.
Borrow smart
- Check the interest rate, processing fee and total repayable amount on the loan agreement before you sign.
- Borrow only what you need; a bigger sanction is not a reason to take more.
- Keep total EMIs under about 40–50% of your take-home pay.
- Repay on time. Missed payments hurt your credit score and attract penalties.
Who it suits
A good fit for self-employed owners with at least ₹1 lakh a month in turnover and a 700+ credit score who want sizeable funding without offering collateral. Look elsewhere if you are salaried, under 25, or your business is too new to show 12 months of bank statements.
