The HDFC Bank Diners Club Credit Card comes in two very different versions. Diners Club Black is a super-premium card with unlimited worldwide lounge access and a ₹10,000 fee. Diners Club Privilege keeps many of the same ideas, like 10x SmartBuy points and free memberships, for just ₹1,000 + GST. Here is how to pick the right one.

What you would actually get
A Privilege holder spending ₹40,000 a month gets a ₹500 voucher every month, worth up to ₹6,000 a year, plus Swiggy One and Times Prime once spending reaches ₹75,000. That is well over the ₹1,000 fee before counting a single reward point. On Black, ₹80,000 a month unlocks two vouchers a month, or up to ₹12,000 a year, alongside the unlimited lounges.
Insurance cover
- Air accidental death cover up to ₹1 crore.
- Credit liability cover up to ₹9 lakh.
- Emergency overseas hospitalisation up to ₹15 lakh (Black) or ₹25 lakh (Privilege).
Before you choose, check where you spend most. Diners Club acceptance has grown a lot in India, but some smaller shops still don’t take it.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get Black if you earn ₹2.5 lakh a month or more, travel internationally and spend heavily: unlimited lounges and two monthly vouchers make the ₹10,000 fee easy to justify. Get Privilege if you earn ₹35,000+ and order a lot on Swiggy and Zomato.
Skip both if you shop mainly at small local stores. The Diners Club network is not accepted everywhere, so keep a Visa, Mastercard or RuPay card as a backup.
