The HSBC Platinum Credit Card is a lifetime free card with an unusually rich welcome package and flexible reward points. You earn 2 points per ₹150, which you can convert instantly into air miles or hotel loyalty points in the HSBC app, and you get memberships, vouchers and fuel cashback that are rare on a no-fee card.
How the rewards work
| Spend | Earn |
|---|---|
| All eligible spends | 2 Reward Points per ₹150 |
| Hotels, flights, car rentals via Travel With Points | Up to 6X |
| Welcome bonus | 2,000 points on ₹5,000 spend in 30 days and app login |
Good to know: the offer does not give a rupee value per point. The best value usually comes from converting to airline or hotel programmes, so check HSBC’s current transfer partners in the app before redeeming.
Welcome and lifestyle benefits
- Times Prime: a 12-month membership with access to Spotify Premium, Uber One, Discovery+, Moneycontrol Pro, Lenskart Gold and more.
- Swiggy One: a complimentary 3-month membership after you activate the card.
- Activation vouchers: Amazon Pay, Swiggy or Zomato vouchers worth up to ₹500 on a single ₹300+ transaction.
- Application bonus: a ₹250 Amazon eGift voucher for completing the online application and video KYC.
- Flights: complimentary domestic flight seat selection twice a year on MakeMyTrip.
Fuel benefits
Contactless fuel spends earn ₹250 cashback each quarter (on up to ₹10,000 of fuel), and there is a fuel surcharge waiver of up to ₹250 a month on transactions between ₹400 and ₹4,000. For a regular driver, that can add up to ₹1,000 a year in cashback alone.
What the first year looks like
Between the ₹500 activation voucher, the ₹250 Amazon voucher, 2,000 bonus points, Swiggy One and a full year of Times Prime, the first-year perks are substantial for a card that never charges a fee. After that, the value comes from points, travel conversions and fuel cashback.
Remember that HSBC sets a high bar for this free card: ₹50,000 a month for salaried applicants and a credit score of 750 or more. If you meet it, there is little reason not to hold the card alongside your main rewards card.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you earn ₹50,000 a month or more, want a free card with good welcome perks, and like turning points into flights or hotel stays.
Skip it if your credit score is below 750, or if you want high cashback on daily spending. HSBC Live+ suits food and grocery spenders better.
