The IDFC FIRST Power Plus Credit Card is the stronger sibling of the Power card. For ₹499 + GST a year, it offers up to 6.5% back on HPCL fuel, up to 5% on groceries, utility bills and FASTag, zero forex markup, a quarterly lounge visit and a monthly movie discount. If your household spends steadily on fuel and bills, it is one of the better-value fuel cards around.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | What you earn | Value back |
|---|---|---|
| HPCL fuel (authorised stations) | 30 Reward Points per ₹150 | Up to 5% |
| Extra when paying via HP Pay app | 6 Happy Coins per ₹100 | About 1.5% more |
| Groceries, utility bills, IDFC FIRST FASTag | 30 Reward Points per ₹150 | Up to 5% |
| Other UPI and retail spends | 3 points per ₹150 (3X) | Not stated |
Good to know: the 6.5% fuel figure assumes you pay through the HP Pay app at HPCL. Pay another way and you still earn up to 5%. The scraped details do not list monthly caps.
What you would actually save
Spend ₹5,000 a month on HPCL fuel through HP Pay and ₹6,000 on groceries and bills. At the stated rates that is up to ₹325 + ₹300 = ₹625 a month, or about ₹7,500 a year. Your ₹1.3 lakh of annual spend in those categories, plus anything else on the card, should take you past the ₹1.5 lakh waiver threshold.
Other benefits
- Welcome: ₹500 cashback on your first HPCL fuel transaction of ₹500+ within 30 days, 5% cashback (up to ₹1,000) on your first EMI conversion, and merchant offers worth up to ₹1,000.
- Lounge: 1 domestic airport lounge visit per quarter when you spend ₹20,000+ in the current calendar month.
- Movies: 25% off ticket bookings, up to ₹100 a month, after at least one transaction in the previous month.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you fill up at HPCL, pay household bills by card and spend ₹12,500 or more a month in total. The fee then pays for itself many times over.
Skip it if you rarely drive or fill up at other fuel brands. The cheaper IDFC FIRST Power, or a general cashback card, will suit lighter spenders better.
