The Kotak Cashback Plus Credit Card targets the spends most households repeat every week: 5% cashback on online grocery, food delivery and entertainment, and an unusual 3% cashback on fuel at every petrol pump. Everything else earns an unlimited 0.5%. The joining fee is currently zero.
How the cashback works
| Where you spend | Cashback |
|---|---|
| Online grocery platforms | 5% |
| Food delivery platforms | 5% |
| Entertainment platforms | 5% |
| Fuel at all petrol pumps | 3% + 1% surcharge waiver |
| All other eligible transactions | 0.5%, unlimited |
Good to know: most cashback cards exclude fuel entirely. Here it earns 3% on top of the 1% surcharge waiver (₹500–₹4,000 transactions, capped at ₹3,500 a year).
What you would actually earn
Say you spend ₹6,000 a month on online groceries and food delivery, ₹1,000 on entertainment, ₹4,000 on fuel and ₹10,000 on everything else. That is ₹350 + ₹120 + ₹50 = ₹520 a month, plus about ₹40 from the fuel surcharge waiver, or roughly ₹6,700 a year. At ₹2.5 lakh a year you would also clear the ₹2 lakh fee waiver.
The 0.5% base rate is low, so move as much spending as you can into the 5% and 3% categories and use a different card for large miscellaneous purchases.
Limited-time offers

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you order groceries and food online every week and drive regularly. Few cards reward that combination as well.
Skip it if most of your spending is offline shopping or large one-off purchases, where 0.5% is well below what other cashback cards pay.
