The HDFC Bank Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card is a co-branded card for people who stay in hotels, especially in the Marriott Bonvoy family. For ₹3,000 + GST a year it bundles a Free Night Award, complimentary Silver Elite status, up to 8 Bonvoy points per ₹150 at Marriott hotels and an unusually generous 24 airport lounge visits a year.
Key benefits
| Benefit | What you get |
|---|---|
| Welcome | 1 Free Night Award + 10 Elite Night Credits on your first eligible spend or fee levy |
| Status | Complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status |
| Hotel spends | Up to 8 Marriott Bonvoy points per ₹150 at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels |
| Lounges | 12 domestic + 12 international visits a year |
| Golf | 2 complimentary rounds per quarter worldwide (green fee waiver) |
Does the fee pay for itself?
For a regular traveller, usually yes. The Free Night Award alone can cover a night at a Marriott Bonvoy property, which at many hotels costs well over ₹3,000. Add 24 lounge visits a year, and even using a handful of them each year offsets the fee. The 10 Elite Night Credits also bring you closer to higher Bonvoy tiers if you already stay with Marriott.
The catch is that most of the value is tied to Marriott. If you rarely stay at its hotels, the points and status are of little use, and you are paying ₹3,000 + GST mainly for lounges and golf.
Good to know: the scraped offer does not mention an annual fee waiver or a reward rate for non-hotel spends, so plan on paying the fee every year and check HDFC’s current terms for everyday earn rates.
Making the most of the card
- Link your Bonvoy account early. Make sure your card is tied to your Marriott Bonvoy membership so points, status and Elite Night Credits land in the right place.
- Use the Free Night Award before it expires. Free night certificates usually carry a validity window, so plan a stay soon after it is credited.
- Book Marriott stays on the card. That is where the up to 8 points per ₹150 applies, and it builds towards higher tiers.
- Track lounge visits. With 12 domestic and 12 international visits a year, frequent flyers can skip paid lounge passes entirely.
- Use the golf benefit. Two complimentary rounds a quarter add real value if you play.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you earn ₹1 lakh a month or more, travel a few times a year, and either stay at Marriott properties already or are happy to. The free night and 24 lounge visits make it strong value for the fee.
Skip it if you rarely fly or stay in hotels, or if your spending is mostly everyday shopping. A cashback card will return far more on groceries and online orders.
