The RBL Bank Indian Oil XTRA Credit Card is the higher-earning version of RBL’s Indian Oil card. It pays 15 fuel points per ₹100 at Indian Oil, worth about 7.5%, doubles the rate on other spends to about 1%, and opens with 3,000 welcome points worth ₹1,500. It is built for people who spend a lot on fuel.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Earn rate | Value (1 point = ₹0.50) | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indian Oil fuel stations | 15 fuel points per ₹100 | About 7.5% | 2,000 points (₹1,000) a month |
| All other purchases | 2 fuel points per ₹100 | About 1% | Not stated |
Good to know: RBL advertises up to 8.5% value back on fuel. The points alone work out to 7.5%, with the surcharge waiver adding a little more on eligible transactions. Points redeem at Indian Oil fuel stations, and each redemption costs ₹99 + GST.
What you would actually save
The 2,000-point cap is reached at about ₹13,300 of IOCL fuel a month. Spend ₹8,000 a month at Indian Oil and you earn 1,200 points, or ₹600 a month. Add ₹10,000 of other spends (200 points, ₹100) and you get about ₹8,400 a year, well above the ₹1,500 + GST fee. That level of spending (₹2.16 lakh a year) is a little short of the ₹2.75 lakh waiver, so budget for the fee.
XTRA vs regular RBL Indian Oil
| XTRA | Indian Oil | |
|---|---|---|
| IOCL fuel | 15 points per ₹100 (~7.5%) | 10 points per ₹100 (~5%) |
| Other spends | 2 points per ₹100 (~1%) | 1 point per ₹100 (~0.5%) |
| Monthly fuel cap | 2,000 points (₹1,000) | 1,000 points (₹500) |
| Welcome points | 3,000 (₹1,500) | 1,000 (₹500) |
| Annual fee | ₹1,500 + GST | ₹500 + GST |
As a rule of thumb, XTRA pays off if you spend more than about ₹4,000 a month on Indian Oil fuel; below that, the cheaper card usually leaves you better off.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you drive a lot, fill up mainly at Indian Oil and spend ₹5,000 or more a month on fuel.
Skip it if your fuel spend is light or spread across brands. The regular RBL Indian Oil card, at a third of the fee, will serve you better.
