The RBL Bank IRCTC Credit Card is a co-branded card for people who travel by train. It earns 5 reward points per ₹200 on IRCTC train bookings, and each point is worth ₹1 on IRCTC, so you effectively get about 2.5% back on tickets. Add 8 railway lounge visits a year, cancellation cover and FASTag rewards, and it is a handy card for ₹500 + GST a year.
How the rewards work
| What you do | What you earn | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Train tickets on IRCTC website/app | 5 points per ₹200 | ~2.5% (1 point = ₹1 on IRCTC) |
| FASTag recharges via RBL digital channels | Up to 3 points per ₹200 | Shared cap of 1,000 points a month |
| Flights and hotels via IRCTC | 2 points per ₹200 | Shared cap of 1,000 points a month |
| Welcome | 500 points | On a ₹500+ purchase within 30 days |
| Quarterly milestone | 500 points | Spend ₹75,000 in a quarter |
Milestone exclusions: wallet loads, cash withdrawals, rent, utilities, fuel and insurance don’t count towards the ₹75,000 quarterly spend.
What you would actually earn
Say you book ₹4,000 of train tickets a month. That earns 100 points, worth ₹100 on IRCTC, or ₹1,200 a year. Add 500 welcome points and a couple of lounge visits, and the card comfortably earns back its ₹500 + GST fee. Keep in mind the ₹99 + GST charge each time you redeem, so it is better to redeem in larger batches.
Travel benefits
- IRCTC Executive Lounges: up to 8 visits a year (2 per quarter) at select stations, with a 2-hour stay, buffet meals, tea/coffee, newspapers and changing rooms.
- Cancellation protection: cover of up to ₹5,000 for trains cancelled by Indian Railways within 24 hours of the scheduled departure.
Tips to get the most from it
- Book all your train tickets on the IRCTC website or app with this card, since that is where the 5-point rate applies.
- Recharge your FASTag through RBL Bank’s digital channels to earn points on tolls too.
- Let points build up and redeem in fewer, larger batches to limit the ₹99 + GST redemption fee.
- Check which stations have IRCTC Executive Lounges before long journeys and use your 2 visits each quarter.
