Most Indian credit cards add a 2–3.5% markup on every foreign currency transaction. The RBL Bank World Safari Credit Card charges no markup at all. Add 5 reward points per ₹100 on domestic travel bookings, lounge access and a ₹3,000 MakeMyTrip voucher, and you have a card built squarely for people who travel abroad or shop on international sites.
How the rewards and benefits work
| Benefit | What you get |
|---|---|
| Foreign currency transactions | No markup |
| Domestic travel: airlines, railways, hotels, car rentals | 5 reward points per ₹100 |
| Other eligible domestic spends | 2 reward points per ₹100 |
| Welcome | MakeMyTrip voucher worth ₹3,000 |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹4,000, up to ₹250 a month |
Earns nothing on: international transactions. You save the markup on them, but they do not count towards the 5-point travel rate.
Milestone rewards
| Annual spend | Bonus |
|---|---|
| ₹2.5 lakh a year | 10,000 bonus points |
| ₹5 lakh a year | 15,000 bonus points |
| ₹7.5 lakh a year | Vouchers worth ₹10,000 from premium brands |
Lounge access and golf
- Domestic: 2 complimentary lounge visits per quarter when you spend ₹35,000 in that quarter.
- International: 2 free visits a year through Priority Pass, plus 1 extra visit per quarter on spends above ₹50,000.
- Golf: access to golf courses, complimentary rounds, green fee discounts and free lessons.
What the zero markup saves you
On a ₹1,00,000 overseas trip, a card with a 3.5% markup would add about ₹3,500 in charges. With World Safari that cost disappears, which on its own is more than the ₹3,000 annual fee. If you travel abroad once or twice a year, the card can pay for itself on markup savings alone.
Remember that the reward points themselves are not earned on foreign currency spends. The card works best as your dedicated overseas card, paired with a domestic rewards or cashback card for everyday use at home.
A simple way to use it: keep World Safari for flights, hotels and every foreign currency payment, and let a domestic cashback card handle groceries and bills. That way you collect the 5-point travel rate and the zero-markup savings without diluting your other rewards.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t

Skip it if you rarely spend in foreign currency. For purely domestic spending, a cashback card with a lower fee will usually return more.
