The SBI ELITE Credit Card is SBI Card’s premium lifestyle card. For ₹4,999 + GST a year, offset in year one by a ₹5,000 welcome e-voucher, you get 2 free movie tickets every month, 8 domestic and 6 international lounge visits, a low 1.99% forex markup and up to 50,000 bonus points a year on milestones.
Key benefits
| Benefit | Details |
|---|---|
| Welcome gift | ₹5,000 e-voucher |
| Movies | 2 free BookMyShow tickets every month (~₹6,000 a year) |
| Domestic lounges | 8 visits a year, 2 per quarter |
| International lounges | 6 visits a year + Priority Pass for the first 2 years |
| Forex markup | 1.99% on international usage |
| Milestone bonus | Up to 50,000 reward points a year (~₹12,500) |
| Concierge | Concierge and premium customer support |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹4,000, up to ₹250 a month |
Does the fee pay for itself?
In the first year, the ₹5,000 voucher covers the fee almost exactly, so everything else is a bonus. From year two, the maths depends on usage. If you use both movie tickets every month (about ₹6,000 a year) and a handful of lounge visits, you already get more than the ₹4,999 fee back, before counting any milestone points.
If you reach the spend milestones, the up to 50,000 bonus points, worth about ₹12,500, push the value well beyond the fee. And at ₹10 lakh of annual spend, the renewal fee is waived altogether.
For international travellers
Every card adds a foreign currency markup when you pay in another currency, abroad or on international websites. ELITE keeps this at 1.99%, which SBI describes as its lowest. On ₹1 lakh of overseas spending, the markup comes to ₹1,990 plus GST. Combined with 6 international lounge visits and two years of Priority Pass, that makes ELITE a sensible card to carry on foreign trips.
Tips to get the most from ELITE
- Book your two BookMyShow tickets every month; unused months are value lost.
- Track lounge visits per quarter, since domestic access is limited to 2 per quarter.
- Plan large purchases to hit the spend milestones that unlock bonus points.
- Use the ₹5,000 welcome e-voucher early so it doesn’t lapse.
Note: the scraped offer does not list the regular reward rate on everyday spends, so check SBI Card’s current terms if base earn rate matters to you.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you go to the movies regularly, travel a few times a year including abroad, and spend enough to chase the milestones.
Skip it if you rarely use lounges or BookMyShow. Without those perks, ₹4,999 a year is hard to justify, and SBI PRIME gives similar everyday value for less.
