The AU Ananta Credit Card from AU Small Finance Bank is a rewards card for people who spend a lot on shopping, dining and travel. It earns 5 reward points per ₹100 in those categories, adds a large milestone programme worth up to 50,000 points a year, and gives domestic lounge access when you book flights through AU Rewards. Each point is worth ₹0.25.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Points | Value at ₹0.25 a point |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping, dining and travel | 5 points per ₹100 | 1.25% |
| Other retail spends | 2 points per ₹100 | 0.5% |
| Insurance, utility and telecom | 1 point per ₹100 | 0.25% |
Milestones and welcome bonus
Spend ₹10 lakh in a card anniversary year and you collect up to 50,000 bonus points (₹12,500), credited in steps as you cross ₹2.5 lakh, ₹5 lakh, ₹7.5 lakh and ₹10 lakh. On top of that, you get 8,000 bonus points (₹2,000) when you activate the card and make your first transaction within 30 days.
What you would actually earn
Spend ₹40,000 a month on shopping, dining and travel and ₹20,000 elsewhere, and you earn 24,000 + 4,800 = 28,800 base points a year, about ₹7,200. That is ₹7.2 lakh of yearly spend, so you would also pass at least the first two milestones. The full 50,000-point milestone needs ₹10 lakh, so the card rewards heavy spenders far more than casual ones.
Other benefits
- Up to 15% instant discount at partner restaurants through District by Zomato, and on select travel, lifestyle, fashion, electronics and entertainment partners.
- 4 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits per quarter on flight bookings made through AU Rewards.
- Fuel surcharge waiver of 1% on ₹400–₹5,000 transactions, up to ₹250 a month.
Things to watch
- Lounge visits come with flight bookings made through AU Rewards, so they are not a simple swipe-and-enter benefit.
- Insurance, utility and telecom payments earn only 0.25%, so pay those with a card that rewards bills.
- The 15% partner discounts depend on participating restaurants and brands, which can change over time.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you spend ₹3 lakh or more a year (so the fee is waived) and much of it goes on shopping, dining and travel. The welcome points alone cover the first-year fee.
Skip it if you spend under ₹25,000 a month. At that level a 1.25% top rate with a ₹2,000 fee is beaten by simpler cashback cards.
Bottom line: Ananta is a card you grow into. The base rate is ordinary, but the welcome points, the milestone ladder and the quarterly lounge visits make it worthwhile once your card spending is consistently high.
