The Airtel Axis Bank RuPay Credit Card is made for Airtel households. It pays an eye-catching 25% cashback on Airtel bills paid through the Airtel Thanks app, 10% on Zomato, Blinkit and District movies, 10% on utility bills via Airtel Thanks, and 1% on UPI spends. The caps are tight, but the fee is low and easy to waive.
How the cashback works
| Where you spend | Cashback | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Airtel mobile, broadband, WiFi, DTH (via Airtel Thanks) | 25% | 2 × ₹250 (₹500 a month) |
| Zomato, Blinkit, District movies | 10% | ₹200 per partner a month |
| Gas, electricity and other utilities (via Airtel Thanks) | 10% | ₹250 a month |
| Other purchases via RuPay UPI | 1% | Not stated |
Good to know: the Airtel and utility caps are counted against cashback earned under the base category, and the 10% partner rate applies to e-commerce spends. Pay bills through the Airtel Thanks app, not elsewhere, to get the higher rates.
What you would actually earn
A family paying ₹1,500 a month on Airtel mobile and broadband gets ₹375 back. Add ₹2,000 on Zomato and Blinkit (₹200 back, within the per-partner caps) and a ₹2,000 electricity bill via Airtel Thanks (₹200 back). That is about ₹775 a month, or more than ₹9,000 a year, from fairly ordinary household spending.
The ceiling is about ₹500 a month on Airtel bills, so the 25% rate stops paying once your Airtel bills cross roughly ₹2,000 a month.
Other benefits
- UPI on credit: as a RuPay card, it can be linked to UPI apps, and those UPI spends earn 1% cashback.
- Fuel surcharge waiver: 1% at fuel stations across India on transactions between ₹400 and ₹4,000, capped at ₹500 per statement.
- Cashback, not points: there is no points catalogue to learn and no conversion rate to work out.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you pay Airtel bills for your phone, broadband or DTH, order from Zomato or Blinkit, and are happy to route bill payments through the Airtel Thanks app.
Skip it if you use Jio or another provider. Without the 25% Airtel category, the remaining rates are capped low and a general cashback card will likely do better.
