The Axis Indian Oil RuPay Credit Card is a simple, low-fee card for anyone who fills up at Indian Oil (IOCL) stations. It returns about 4% on IOCL fuel, about 1% on online spends, and because it runs on RuPay, you can link it to UPI and pay at any QR code.
How the rewards work
| Category | Earn rate | Cap | Max yearly saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| IOCL fuel | 20 EDGE points per ₹100 (~4%) | Up to ₹5,000 spend a month | About ₹2,400 a year |
| Online spends | 5 EDGE points per ₹100 (~1%) | Up to ₹5,000 spend a month | About ₹600 a year |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% | Up to ₹50 a month | About ₹600 a year |
Good to know: the accelerated rates only apply up to the monthly spend caps. Fuel above ₹5,000 a month, or online spends above ₹5,000, do not earn the higher rate.
What you would actually earn
Fill ₹5,000 of fuel at IOCL every month and spend another ₹5,000 online, and you get about ₹200 + ₹50 = ₹250 a month in points, plus up to ₹50 a month from the surcharge waiver. That is up to roughly ₹3,600 a year, comfortably more than the ₹500 + GST annual fee.
If you spend less on fuel, the maths still works at around ₹2,000–₹3,000 a month of IOCL fuel, as long as you pay your bill in full and avoid interest.
Other benefits
- Welcome cashback: 100% back up to ₹250 on your first fuel purchase within 30 days.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you drive regularly, have an Indian Oil pump on your route and spend around ₹3,000–₹5,000 a month on fuel. The UPI feature is a bonus for small everyday payments.
Skip it if you mostly fill up at HP or BPCL, or rarely drive. The best rates are tied to IOCL, and the online rate of 1% is ordinary on its own.
