The LIC Axis Bank Signature Credit Card is a co-branded card for LIC policyholders. It is lifetime free, earns double reward points on LIC premium payments and foreign currency spends, and adds something unusual for a free card: up to 8 domestic airport lounge visits a year. The reward value is low, though, so it works best as a dedicated premium-payment card rather than your main card.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Earn rate | Value (1 point = ₹0.20) |
|---|---|---|
| LIC premium payments | 2 points per ₹100 | About 0.4% |
| Foreign currency transactions | 2 points per ₹100 | About 0.4% |
| All other eligible spends | 1 point per ₹100 | About 0.2% |
Earns nothing on: fuel transactions, wallet loads and EMI conversions.
What you would actually earn
Pay ₹50,000 a year in LIC premiums with the card and you earn 1,000 points, worth about ₹200. Put another ₹1.5 lakh of everyday spending on it and you add 1,500 points (about ₹300). The rewards are small, but because the card costs nothing, everything you earn is a net gain. Paying a premium by card also gives you up to 50 days before the money leaves your account, as long as you clear the bill in full.
The double rate on foreign currency transactions is a small plus if you sometimes shop on international websites, but remember that the scraped details do not mention the forex markup, so check the charge before using it abroad.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you pay LIC premiums every year, want a free card to put them on, and spend enough (₹50,000 a quarter) to unlock the occasional lounge visit. Domestic flyers who travel a handful of times a year will get the most from it.
Skip it if you want strong everyday rewards. At 0.2% on regular spends, almost any cashback card beats it, so keep this one for premiums and travel days.
