The HDFC Swiggy BLCK Credit Card is the premium sibling in HDFC Bank’s Swiggy card line-up. It pays 10% cashback on the Swiggy app (food delivery, Instamart and Dineout), 5% on online shopping at Amazon, Flipkart, Cleartrip, Ajio and other leading merchants, and 1% on most other spends. The monthly caps are generous, so a household that orders in and shops online regularly can earn a serious amount back every month.
How the cashback works
| Where you spend | Cashback | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Swiggy app: food delivery, Instamart, Dineout (₹249+ orders) | 10% | ₹1,500 a month |
| Amazon, Flipkart, Cleartrip, Ajio and other leading online merchants (₹100+) | 5% | ₹1,500 a month |
| Other eligible spends (₹100+) | 1% | ₹1,000 a month |
Earns nothing on: Swiggy Money wallet loads, Swiggy Liquor and certain other excluded categories. Swiggy orders below ₹249 and other transactions below ₹100 don’t qualify for cashback.
What you would actually earn
Say you spend ₹8,000 a month on Swiggy orders, ₹12,000 on Amazon and Flipkart and ₹15,000 on everything else. That earns ₹800 + ₹600 + ₹150 = ₹1,550 a month, or about ₹18,600 a year. Your yearly spend in this example is ₹4.2 lakh, well above the ₹2 lakh needed to waive the annual fee.
The caps kick in at ₹15,000 a month on Swiggy, ₹30,000 on the 5% merchants and ₹1 lakh on other spends, so the absolute maximum is ₹4,000 a month. Very few people will hit all three.
Other benefits
- A complimentary 3-month Swiggy BLCK membership as a welcome benefit when you activate the card.
- Up to 12 complimentary golf lessons and 4 free golf rounds a year, plus 50% off additional rounds.
- Cashback is paid straight back to the card, so there are no points to track or convert.
Getting the fees waived
Spend ₹75,000 in the first 90 days, which is about ₹25,000 a month, and the ₹1,000 joining fee is waived. Keep spending around ₹17,000 a month after that and you clear the ₹2 lakh needed to skip the renewal fee too. For the target user, the card can realistically cost nothing to hold.
Things to watch
- Small Swiggy orders under ₹249 earn nothing, so club items into one order where you can.
- Loading Swiggy Money or buying through Swiggy Liquor does not count towards the 10% rate.
- Once a bucket hits its cap, extra spending in that category earns nothing more that month.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you spend a few thousand rupees a month on Swiggy and also shop regularly on Amazon, Flipkart or Ajio, and your income clears the ₹70,000 a month bar. The high caps make it one of the strongest everyday cashback cards for app-heavy users.
Skip it if you rarely order on Swiggy or your income is below the threshold. A lighter card with a lower income requirement will suit you better, and the 10% rate is the main reason to pick this one.
