The IndusInd Platinum Credit Card is a no-frills, lifetime free card with one quietly useful feature: its reward points never expire. It earns 1.5 points per ₹150, with each point worth ₹0.65, adds a fuel surcharge waiver, travel insurance and fraud protection, and accepts first-time credit card applicants.
How the rewards work
| Earn rate | 1.5 Reward Points per ₹150 spent |
|---|---|
| Point value | ₹0.65 per point |
| Effective return | About 0.65% |
| Expiry | Points never expire |
| Redemption | Air miles on partner airlines, cash credit or pay with rewards |
What you would actually earn
Spend ₹20,000 a month and you earn 200 points, worth about ₹130 a month or ₹1,560 a year. That will not rival a cashback card, but with zero fees and no expiry, nothing is lost if you only use the card occasionally. It works well as a backup card or as a first card to build a credit history.
The ₹0.65 point value is higher than on many entry-level cards, and redemption is flexible: convert points to air miles with partner airlines, take them as cash credit against your bill, or use them to pay for purchases. Since they never expire, you can let them build up for a bigger redemption later.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you want your first credit card, a free backup card, or a card where points never vanish. The 650+ score requirement is lower than most banks ask for.
Skip it if you want strong rewards on everyday spending. A cashback card will return two or three times as much on the same purchases.
