The RBL Bank Indian Oil Credit Card is a straightforward fuel card for drivers who fill up at Indian Oil. It earns 10 fuel points per ₹100 at IOCL pumps, worth about 5% back, and gives 1,000 welcome points worth ₹500, which covers the joining fee. The low ₹15,000 income bar makes it one of the more accessible fuel cards.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Earn rate | Value (1 point = ₹0.50) | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indian Oil fuel stations | 10 fuel points per ₹100 | About 5% | 1,000 points (₹500) a month |
| All other purchases | 1 fuel point per ₹100 | About 0.5% | Not stated |
Good to know: RBL advertises up to 6% value back on fuel. The points alone work out to 5%; the surcharge waiver adds a little more on eligible transactions. Each points redemption costs ₹99 + GST, so redeem in larger lots.
What you would actually save
The monthly cap of 1,000 points is reached at ₹10,000 of fuel at Indian Oil. Spend ₹5,000 a month there and you earn 500 points, or ₹250 a month (about ₹3,000 a year). Add the surcharge waiver of up to ₹100 a month on transactions of ₹500–₹4,000, and the card can comfortably cover its ₹500 + GST annual fee. If you spend ₹1.75 lakh a year on the card in total, that fee is waived anyway.
Because points are redeemed at Indian Oil fuel stations, the rewards effectively become free fuel. Collect a few months’ worth before redeeming so the ₹99 + GST redemption fee takes a smaller share of what you earn.
Welcome benefit
Make your first transaction of ₹500 or more within 30 days of the card being issued and you receive 1,000 fuel points worth ₹500. That is enough to cover the ₹500 joining fee before GST, so the first year costs you very little.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you fill up at Indian Oil, spend ₹3,000–₹10,000 a month on fuel and want a cheap, simple card that pays you back in fuel.
Skip it if you spend over ₹10,000 a month on fuel (the RBL Indian Oil XTRA earns more) or rarely use Indian Oil pumps. Non-fuel spends earn only about 0.5%.
