The SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card is an entry-level card with a very simple idea: reward the things most households spend on every week. You earn 10 reward points per ₹150, about 1.67% back, on dining, movies, groceries and departmental stores, for a fee of ₹499 + GST that is waived once you spend ₹1 lakh in a year.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Points | Value back | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dining, movies, groceries, departmental stores | 10 points per ₹150 | ~1.67% | Up to 5,000 points a month |
| All other spends | 1 point per ₹150 | ~0.17% | None stated |
| Welcome bonus | 2,000 points | ~₹500 | Spend ₹2,000 in 60 days |
Point value: 4 reward points = ₹1. The 5,000-point monthly cap on bonus categories is worth about ₹1,250 and is reached at roughly ₹75,000 of spend in those categories a month, which few people will hit.
What you would actually earn
Say you spend ₹8,000 a month on groceries, ₹3,000 on dining and movies, and ₹9,000 on other bills and shopping. You would earn about 733 + 60 = 793 points a month, worth roughly ₹200, or about ₹2,400 a year. With ₹2.4 lakh of annual spending, the renewal fee is also waived.
Notice how little the “other spends” bucket contributes. This card works best as the one you use at the supermarket and restaurants, paired with an online card for everything else.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you want a first credit card with a low fee and most of your spending is on groceries, eating out and movies.
Skip it if you mostly shop online or want one card for everything. Outside its bonus categories it returns very little, so SBI SimplyCLICK or a cashback card will do better.
