The Uni GoldX Credit Card is a lifetime-free RuPay card with a twist: rewards arrive as Uni Coins that you convert into 24K digital gold, or redeem for physical gold coins. It earns an unlimited 1% back on eligible spends, charges zero forex markup abroad and pays 7% back on flights and hotels booked through Uni.
How the rewards work
| Where you spend | Reward | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible online and offline spends | 1% back in gold | No cap |
| UPI Scan & Pay (RuPay variant) | 1% back | Not stated |
| Brand vouchers via Uni Store (Amazon, Myntra, Zomato, Blinkit, Swiggy and more) | Up to 8% | Varies by brand |
| Domestic and international flights via Uni Store | 7% back | No cap or minimum |
| Hotels via Uni’s travel partner | 7% back | Unlimited |
| PVR and INOX tickets via Uni Store | 50% back | ₹250 a month, needs ₹10,000 monthly spend |
Note: the offer summary quotes up to 5% on vouchers while the detailed terms say up to 8%. The actual rate depends on the brand, so check it in the Uni Store before buying.
What you would actually earn
Put ₹20,000 a month of everyday spending on the card and you get about ₹200 in gold a month. Book one ₹30,000 flight a year through Uni Store and that adds ₹2,100. Buy your regular Amazon or Swiggy spend as vouchers and the effective rate on those purchases climbs well above 1%.
Zero forex markup
Most cards add a markup of a few percent on every foreign transaction. GoldX charges no forex markup on eligible international spends across 180+ countries, and you still earn 1% back. For travellers and anyone paying foreign websites, this alone can make the card worthwhile.
Things to watch
- The value of your rewards moves with the price of gold, so it can rise or fall after you earn it.
- The 50% movie offer needs ₹10,000 of spending in the month and is capped at ₹250.
- Zero forex applies to eligible international transactions; check the app for any excluded types.
- Flights and hotels must be booked through Uni Store or its partner platform to earn 7%.

Who should get it, and who shouldn’t
Get it if you want a free all-rounder, travel abroad or shop on foreign sites, or like the idea of slowly building a gold balance.
Skip it if you are under 25 or over 50, as the age band is narrow, or if you would rather have plain cash than gold. For a free card, though, very little else matches its mix of no forex markup and uncapped base rewards.
